NZX to publish monthly operating metrics

19 August 2003 - New Zealand Exchange Limited (NZX) will be publishing monthly operating metrics from August 2003 onwards.

The metrics are designed to enhance transparency by offering a clear picture of NZX's operations and performance on a regular basis. The monthly metrics will include such measurements as:

• total market capitalisation;
• total NZDX nominal value;
• monthly value traded compared to both the same month last year and the same quarter last year;
• monthly volume traded; and
• numbers of Listed Issuers, quoted securities, data vendors, and NZX Firms, Brokers and Associates.

The July 2003 metrics can be found in the new investor relations section of the NZX website (www.nzx.com/aboutus/investor/metrics). The metrics will be developed over time to include additional information as and when required.
