Access Brokerage suspended from trading in New Zealand market
6 September 2004 - New Zealand Exchange Limited (NZX) wishes to advise the market that NZX Regulation has declared Access Brokerage Limited (Access) a defaulter under the NZX Participant Rules and has suspended them as an NZX Firm effective immediately. This includes the suspension of all trading rights and privileges associated with their designation as an NZX Firm. In addition, the matter has also been referred to all relevant authorities including the Minister of Commerce, the Securities Commission, and the Serious Fraud Office.

27 July 2004 – New Zealand Exchange Limited (NZX) wishes to announce that it recorded a post tax profit (NPAT) of $2.030 million for the six months ended 30 June 2004, compared with $0.584 million for the six months ended 30 June 2003. Earnings per share for the six months ended 30 June 2004 is 16.59 cents.

NZX Rules Update
10 March 2004 – NZX would like to announce that it has submitted the revised NZX Discipline Rules and miscellaneous changes to the NZX Listing Rules to the Minister of Commerce under the disallowance process in Part 2B of the Securities Markets Act 1988. This follows an extensive period of consultation with market participants and considerable redrafting on the part of NZX.

NZSX 40 Index data
09 March 2003 – NZX would like to remind all market participants that it will be ceasing publication of the NZSX 40 Index effective from 1 April 2004. The NZSX 40 will also be removed from the NZX Market feed and from end of day reports at this time. This follows the successful introduction of the NZSX 50 Index which has quickly become the primary benchmark for most domestic funds.

NZX to assume regulatory responsibility for futures and options in New Zealand
13 February 2004 - As announced by the New Zealand Securities Commission and NZX on 17 September 2003, NZX is planning to assume responsibility for frontline regulation of the activity of futures dealers in New Zealand no later than 3 May, 2004. The current agreement will see NZX Regulation meet the requirements for both new and existing futures dealers, and the delivery of a seamless transition once NZFOE withdraws from its current regulatory role in New Zealand.

10 February 2004 – New Zealand Exchange Limited (NZX) wishes to announce that it recorded a post tax profit (NPAT) of $2.943 million for the year ended 31 December 2003 , compared with a $0.515 million deficit for the 12 months ended June 2002. Earnings per share (EPS) for the year ended 31 December 2003 is 23.2 cents.
