NZX releases Futures and Options Rules for public review
20 February 2004 - New Zealand Exchange Limited (NZX) has published its
Futures and Options Rules for public comment as advised on Friday 13 February.
The Futures and Options Rules have been developed to match the structure of the proposed NZX Participant Rules and encompass international best practice. They draw heavily on the content of the NZFOE Rules to ensure a smooth changeover to the new regime for current NZFOE participants. NZX is seeking comment on the Futures and Options Rules from market participants and other interested parties, and will review and consider all comments prior to finalising the rules. Once finalised, the Rules will be submitted to the Securities Commission for their consent. The Futures and Options Rules are available for downloading on the NZX website at www.nzx.com/regulation. Comments on the Rules are to be made in writing and should be received by NZX no later than 2 March. To assist interested parties in understanding the differences between the existing regulatory framework and the proposed new Futures and Options Rules, NZX has also provided comparison tables which compare the Futures and Options Rules with both the proposed NZX Participant Rules and the NZFOE Rules. NZX will host a conference call for all interested parties to comment on the Futures and Options Rules on 2 March at 9am. To register for the call, contact Neil Hammond: neil.hammond@nzx.com.
