The combined New Zealand Institute and NZX strategy, "Economy on the Edge: Swan Dive or Belly Flop?" has moved into its second phase with some robust analysis, some revisions and some new material based on substantial amounts of feedback, including postings to blog.nzx.com.

NZX has released a set of draft Listing Rule changes for consultation, focused on increasing the speed and reducing the cost of capital raising for NZX Listed Issuers.
NZX gives view on takeover bid for BESA by JSE
NZX acquired 22% of the shares of the Bond Exchange of South Africa (BESA) on 3 October 2008. The acquisition was the culmination of over a year's work with the BESA team to scope current value and growth options for the company.
NZX Operating Metrics - October 2008
NZX has today released the NZX Operating Metrics for October 2008. NZX releases the Operating Metrics on the first Tuesday of every month.

NZX today announced the acquisition of Australian-based ProFarmer Australia Limited Pty.
BESA receive takeover offer from the JSE
The Bond Exchange of South Africa ("BESA"), of which NZX is the largest shareholder at 22% as a result of capital raising that closed on October 6, 2008, has over the weekend received an unsolicited takeover offer from the Johannesburg Stock Exchange ("JSE"). The takeover offer is at a 23% premium to the valuation at which NZX acquired its shares on October 6, 2008.
NZX announces NPAT up 20% in third quarter 2008
NZX Group has today released a financial result showing NPAT up 20% to $7.80 million year to date.
