HENDERSON TR PACIFIC INVESTMENT TRUST PLC
Market Purchase of Company's Own Shares

Notification is given that pursuant to the authority granted at an Annual
General Meeting on 23 April 2008 to make market purchases of the Company's
own ordinary shares of 5p each, a market purchase of 60,000 ordinary shares
in the capital of the Company was made today at a price of 124.6666p per
share.

Following this purchase and cancellation there are 163,038,907 ordinary
shares in issue.

The issued share capital of the Company following this purchase is
163,038,907 ordinary shares of 5p each. The figure to be used as the
denominator for calculations of interests in the Company's voting rights is
163,038,907 as on a poll ordinary shareholders have one vote for every 5p in
nominal value.
