Following today's announcement by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Hon. Murray McCully MP, of the intended appointment of Hon. Jim McLay CNZM, QSO as New Zealand's next Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Hon. McLay has advised the board of Metlifecare Limited that he will, in due course, be submitting his resignation as Chairman and as a director of that company.
The exact date of that resignation will be decided and advised to the market when arrangements have been finalised for Hon. McLay to take up his new position, but will not be later than July 2009.
