Highlights - May 2008
- Number of Real-time Data terminals were up 19% on the same period last year to 10,948.
- NZDX Market Capitalisation has increased 34% in the last 12 months, at $12 billion at the end of May 2008.
- Total trades on the NZDX were up 12% at 3384. Total value traded on the NZDX was up 89% at $256 million.
- Smartshares Funds under management have now reached $751 million, a 37% increase on May 2007.
- There was $86 million of capital raised in May with a breakdown of $46 million equity and $40 million of debt.
Trading
- Total value traded in May was $2.75 billion, a 28% decrease on the same period last year.
- Average daily trades were 2,419, a 9% decrease on May 2007.
- Average daily value traded of $125 million, a 24% decrease on May 2007.
- Total number of trades was 53,211 an 13% decrease on the same period last year.
- Total number of trades for the NZDX was 3,384 for May, a 12% increase on the same period last year. Total value traded on the NZDX was $256 million, an 89% increase on the same period last year.
- Total number of trades for the NZSX was 49,568 for May, a 14% decrease on the same period last year. Total value traded on the NZSX was $2.49 billion for May, a 32% decrease on the same period last year.
- Total number of trades for the NZAX was 259 for May, a 73% decrease on the same period last year. Total value traded on the NZAX was $1 million, a 76% decrease on the same period last year.
Capital raised
- $86 million of capital was raised in May 2008 with a breakdown of $46 million equity and $40 million of debt.
- There has been $1.848 billion capital raised year to date.
