Petrol prices cut

By NICK CHURCHOUSE

Shell's pump prices are now $2.15 per litre for 91 octane, $2.20 for V-Power (95 octane) and $1.88 for diesel.

Crude oil prices have dropped US$13 from the all time high reached in recent weeks, and a Shell spokeswoman said those savings has taken some time to flow through to refined fuel, which was the main consideration in setting retail petrol prices.

"Shell recognises that high petrol prices have been hurting motorists and has quickly passed on these reduced costs to motorists."

The Automobile Association called yesterday for at least a 3c drop on petrol prices to reflect the lower international cost of oil and refined fuel.
