Online accounting software provider Xero (XRO) today announced a partnership to provide small and medium sized businesses with accounting software through Telecom’s Business Hub.

Telecom Head of Business Marketing, Victoria Crone says Xero was chosen as the first Software as a Service (SaaS) provider and partner due to their success in product innovation.

“We’ve watched Xero since they were a start up, now they’ve developed into a world class product, so naturally we’re delighted to find a best in field offering right on our doorstep,” she said.

Xero CEO Rod Drury says Telecom is one of the organisations that already touches almost all New Zealand business. He cites their recent initiatives in the business space will help drive productivity into this important sector.

“This is a significant relationship for Xero as it will allow us to gain access to the very diverse and wide spread New Zealand small and home business market. It also validates the go-to-market model for other countries,” he said.

The Telecom Business Hub, launched last month, is a marketplace for New Zealand’s 433 000 small and medium sized businesses to find and buy business-level IT and communications services.
