Downer awarded Clare Solar Farm contract

30 December 2016 DOWNER AWARDED CLARE SOLAR FARM CONTRACT Downer EDI Limited (Downer) announced today it had been awarded the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) and a two-year Operations and Maintenance (O & M) contract by Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) for the Clare Solar Farm. The contract is valued at approximately $190 million. The Chief Executive Officer of Downer, Grant Fenn said Downer is one of Australia's largest and most experienced partners in delivering renewable projects. "We look forward to working with FRV, a global provider of renewable energy solutions, to develop Clare Solar Farm, a 100MW (AC) grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) solar plant about 35 kilometres from the township of Ayr in north Queensland," said Mr Fenn. Construction is scheduled to commence in early 2017 and is expected to take 12 months.
