3 January 2017 FOREIGN & COLONIAL INVESTMENT TRUST PLC TOTAL VOTING RIGHTS In accordance with the Financial Conduct Authority's ("FCA") Disclosure and Transparency Rule 5.6, Foreign & Colonial Investment Trust PLC ("the Company") advises that as at 30 December 2016 the Company had 561,819,016 ordinary shares in issue (including 15,246,154 held in Treasury). Each such ordinary share has one vote per share. The total number of voting rights that can be exercised in the Company is, therefore, 546,572,862. The above figure of 546,572,862 may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company under the FCA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
