25 May 2017 Market statement LIC senior manager steps down The chief executive of LIC Automation, a subsidiary of Livestock Improvement Corporation (NZX: LIC), is to step down from the role. Paul Whiston was appointed to the role in April 2015, when the entity was established, and reported to the chief executive of LIC. "On behalf of LIC I would like to thank Paul for the contribution he has made to LIC Automation," LIC chief executive Wayne McNee said. "Paul has led the business through a period of investment and expansion in a difficult market and leaves it now in a good position to take advantage of improving economic conditions both here in New Zealand and our key international markets. "Paul is leaving LIC Automation to pursue other opportunities and I wish him well." Paul's last day with LIC Automation will be 26 May 2017. Other interim changes in responsibilities within LIC's senior leadership team as result of this include: o Geoff Corbett (LIC general manager biological systems) appointed acting chief executive LIC Automation. o Dr Richard Spelman (LIC chief scientist) appointed acting general manager biological systems o Dr Bevin Harris (LIC science leader) appointed acting chief scientist.
