BIF acquires shares in Upstream Medical Technologies

Booster is pleased to announce the addition of Upstream Medical to the Booster Innovation Fund (BIF) portfolio, which is held through NZ Innovation Booster LP - an underlying fund that was established as a joint venture between the Booster group, Wellington UniVentures and Otago Innovation Limited. Upstream Medical operates in the diagnostics part of the Life Sciences and Medical Technologies sector. It is developing a unique test for rapid and accurate diagnostics of specific heart conditions. Upstream Medical was formed in 2015, and is classified as early stage, with its technology origins being from Otago University. BIF will make a cash investment of $262,500. Following this transaction, Upstream Medical will represent 1.7% of BIF's investment portfolio of 33 companies, and with a net asset value of over $15 million.
