ANZ Bank New Zealand Limited today announced Grant Knuckey will step down as Chief Risk Officer in March 2024. A long-serving executive, Mr Knuckey has held senior international banking roles in New Zealand, Asia and the United States. Prior to starting his current role in early 2020, Mr Knuckey served as CEO of ANZ Americas and before that CEO Japan & Korea. ANZ Bank New Zealand Chief Executive Officer Antonia Watson said: "Grant has made a significant contribution to ANZ over almost 30 years in many different markets, including here in New Zealand. "Since commencing as Chief Risk Officer, Grant has played a critical role steering ANZ through the pandemic, our response to the RBNZ's section 95 review, and more recently leading our climate programme and the response to current economic challenges. "I understand his reasons for wanting to step down, however he leaves a strong team in place and I'm grateful Grant has agreed to stay on until March to ensure a smooth transition. Mr Knuckey said: "While it's been an incredibly difficult decision, I will be looking at different opportunities where I can get back to running and growing a business, including potential options here at ANZ." An announcement on Mr Knuckey's replacement will be made in due course. For media enquiries contact Briar McCormack 021 280 1173 End CA:00416418 For:ANB Type:ADMIN Time:2023-08-16 08:31:00
