CCHL 2023 Annual Report

Christchurch City Holdings Ltd (CCHL) (NZX:CCH) is pleased to present its 2023 Annual Report in accordance with NZX Listing Rule 3.6.1. This announcement follows CCHL's full year results announcement on 29 August 2023. CCHL manages a portfolio of investments in commercial infrastructure on behalf of the Christchurch City Council and the ratepayers of Christchurch. The CCHL Group includes six trading subsidiaries that own and operate essential infrastructure assets and services across Christchurch and Canterbury being Orion New Zealand Limited (Orion), Christchurch International Airport Limited (CIAL), Lyttelton Port Company Limited (LPC), Enable Services Limited (Enable), City Care Limited (Citycare) and EcoCentral Limited. The Group delivered a strong result for the FY23 financial year despite significant economic headwinds: o Group revenue $1.446 billion (FY22: $1.056 billion) o Group NPAT $99 million (FY22: $121 million) o Normalised Group NPAT (excluding fair value gains and losses on investment property) $94 million (FY22: $69 million) o Group assets $5.8 billion (FY22: $5.3 billion) o $32.4 million dividend returned to the city (FY22: $16.1 million) Within the Group, CIAL has continued to benefit from the recovery of the tourism sector, with domestic passenger numbers returning closer to pre-pandemic levels. Enable's transition to a successful network operator is reflected in improvements in operating performance while LPC's increased focus on sustainable profitability is also reflected in steady operating results. Citycare's acquisition of Spencer Henshaw in September 2022 has added to the lift in performance across its property and water divisions in FY23. Orion also delivered a solid performance this year, while navigating the constraints of the current default price path regime and demanding economic conditions.
