Client Asset Review
Following consultation in December 2025 NZX has determined to amend the NZX Participant Rules (Participant Rules) in relation to the requirements placed on Market Participants Accepting Client Assets (Market Participants) when handling Client Assets.
The amendments clarify the obligations applying to Market Participants and ensure the requirements under the Participant Rules align with existing market practices and regulatory expectations. The amendments include changes to the Client Asset Guidance Note, as well as the NZX Participant Procedures. Mark-ups of the amendments are available below:

In addition to the above amendments, we have updated the monthly reporting templates previously contained in the Client Assets Guidance Note and now provide them in excel format as Appendix C and D. These Appendices are available below:

These amendments will become effective on Monday 12 October 2026.
Quarterly Internal Control Checklist to the NZX Participant Procedures
NZX is amending the Quarterly Internal Control Checklist in Appendix B to the NZX Participant Procedures to remove an outdated reference to the NZX Participant Rules. A mark-up of the amended Appendix B is available below:
