Rhys Jones joins the Board of Metro Performance Glass

NZX.MPG, ASX.MPP 29 March 2018 Rhys Jones joins the Board of Metro Performance Glass Metro Performance Glass Limited (Metro Glass) is pleased to announce that Rhys Jones has been appointed a non-executive director of the Board, with effect from the 1st of April 2018. Rhys is the Executive Director and Chairman of the Executive Board of Vulcan Steel Limited. Vulcan Steel is a large privately owned Trans-Tasman steel distributor with over thirty business units across Australasia. He is also a director of Tru Test Corporation Limited. Rhys has had a thirty year career working in the Australasian building material and packaging industries. Prior to joining Vulcan Steel in 2006, he has held senior roles in particular with Carter Holt Harvey Ltd and Fletcher Challenge, including Chief Operating Officer of the Pulp, Paper, and Packaging business of Carter Holt Harvey. Chairman Peter Griffiths said: "We're delighted to welcome Rhys to the Metro Glass Board. Rhys brings experience of operating a very successful Australasian business, and has been involved with a wide range of both large and small enterprises. He has a strong focus on customer service and very valuable experience in manufacturing within a Trans-Tasman building materials context." Following Rhys' appointment, and Nigel Rigby's departure, the Metro Performance Glass board will have six directors, each considered to be independent directors. Metro Glass' constitution and the NZX Main Board Listing Rules require that any person appointed as a director by the Board must retire at the next annual meeting, but shall be eligible for election at that meeting. Accordingly, Rhys will retire and seek election by shareholders at Metro Glass' 2018 Annual Shareholders' Meeting.
