AIA Monthly Traffic Update – August 2018

August 2018 Monthly traffic update 6.3% - Auckland Airport experienced total passenger growth of 6.3% in August 2018. International passengers (excl. Transits) were up 7.4%, while domestic passengers grew by 6.6% compared to August 2017. International passenger growth (excl. Transit) was predominantly driven by additional capacity on the Asia and Pacific Island routes (+42,000 and +10,000 seats respectively). Key Points: o Winter holiday travel continued to drive growth in Auckland Airport's origin traffic base with New Zealander arrivals (+7.8%) and departures (+8.4%) up on August 2017, predominantly driven by the additional capacity on Asian routes. o Australian visitor arrivals up 5.9% on August 2017 despite reduction in Tasman capacity.
