AIA Monthly Traffic Update – December 2018

2.4% Auckland Airport experienced total passenger growth of 2.4% in December 2018. International passengers (excl. Transits) were up 3.3%, while domestic passengers grew by 2.0% compared to December 2017. International passenger growth (excl. Transits) was predominantly driven by additional capacity on Asia (+38,000 seats), particularly to Indonesia (+21,000 seats) and Singapore (+14,000 seats). In addition, increased services to Houston, Honolulu and the new service to Chicago drove capacity increases on North America (+16,000 seats). Key Points: o Hong Kong Airlines has announced it will cease its daily Auckland-Hong Kong service effective from 22 May 2019.
