DOWNER AWARDED CONTRACT AT MEANDU MINE IN QUEENSLAND Downer EDI Limited (Downer) announced today that it had been awarded a five-year contract, valued at approximately $600 million, to provide mining and related services at the Meandu Mine. The mine is owned by Stanwell Corporation Limited and is in Queensland's South Burnett Region. Under the contract, Downer will carry out full mining services, including operation of the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP). The new contract will extend Downer's current operations at the mine, which commenced in 2013 and expires 30 June 2020. The new contract will commence 1 July 2020. The Chief Executive Officer of Downer, Grant Fenn, said Downer was very pleased to be extending its relationship with Stanwell. "Downer has worked closely with Stanwell since 2013 and we look forward to continuing to provide safe and productive services at Meandu Mine," he said. Mr Fenn said Downer was a leading provider of mining services in Australia and its extensive Queensland operations included the Blackwater, Commodore, Goonyella and Meandu mines.
