15 July 2020 AWF MADISON GROUP ANNOUNCES BOARD APPOINTMENT The Board of AWF Madison Group (AWF) is delighted to advise the appointment of Laurissa Cooney as an Independent Director, effective from 1 August 2020. Chairman Ross Keenan said that the appointment was consistent with earlier comments that the Group has embarked on a process of appointing a generation shift in governance skills to the Board. He said that Laurissa Cooney represents that shift well, and she brings considerable financial skills from wide experience with Deloitte, both within New Zealand and in London, and from her prior CFO role. Laurissa has demonstrated a passionate focus on governance, leadership and Maori success throughout her New Zealand interests. Her experience in incorporating Maori social and cultural factors to governance will broaden and enrich the values of AWF Madison. Ross Keenan said that as New Zealand's largest recruiter and provider of contingent workers across many sectors, he expected Laurissa would contribute strongly to the Group's social employment initiatives towards reviving the local labour market. On her appointment, Laurissa Cooney commented that she is excited to be joining the AWF Madison Board and is looking forward to working with a talented and values-focussed team. She believes the AWF Madison business is in a prime position to shape New Zealand's future workforce in response to evolving needs. Laurissa currently serves on the Boards of Air New Zealand and a Ngai Tai ki Tamaki Commercial Investment Trust; and is the Chair of the Tourism Bay of Plenty Board. She is a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors.
