Media release - September 17, 2020 Tom Brownrigg takes on new construction innovation role Ryman Healthcare's Chief Construction Officer Tom Brownrigg has been appointed to the new role of Construction Manager - Innovation and Technical. Ryman Healthcare will be appointing a new Chief Construction Officer to replace Tom, and a recruitment process is under way. Tom joined Ryman in 2006 and has overseen the construction of 23 retirement villages in New Zealand in Victoria. Over that time Ryman's construction spend has risen from about $50 million a year to more than $600 million. He will continue to play a key part in the future of Ryman Construction in his new role, which will focus on improving and innovating the way Ryman builds. "Tom's delivered a fantastic service for Ryman for the past 15 years and he has been a big part of our growth story," Chief Executive Gordon MacLeod said. "Tom loves being in the detail and we wanted to create a new role to ensure that we are constantly improving and innovating the way we build and making the most of technology. "I'm delighted that he will continue with us and is as keen and motivated as ever to keep adding value to our pursuit of constantly improving Ryman Construction, while we continue to grow and take Ryman to more communities in New Zealand and Australia. "We now have some big steel-capped boots to fill, and we will be recruiting externally to fill the role." Tom Brownrigg said he was looking forward to his new challenge.
