Spark extends appointment of Future Director

MARKET RELEASE 24 June 2021 Spark extends appointment of Future Director Spark New Zealand announced today that Ana Wight's appointment as a Future Director on the Spark Board has been extended for a further five months, until 31 December 2021. Ms Wight has sat on the Spark Board as a Future Director under the Future Directors programme since February 2020. Her appointment was due to end on 31 July, but Spark Chair Justine Smyth said that with the disruption caused by COVID to the Board schedule, and the valuable contribution Ms Wight has made to Board discussions, the Board wished to extend her tenure. The Future Directors programme is run by the New Zealand Institute of Directors. It gives talented New Zealanders, who have already established themselves in senior management at Kiwi organisations and are interested in corporate governance, the opportunity to observe and participate in Boardroom discussions. As Future Director, Ms Wight attends all Board meetings but does not have voting rights and is not involved in decision making.
