General Capital, the NZX listed financial services group, is pleased to announce an issue of 34,782,609 ordinary shares to a wholesale investor at 5.75 cents per share for total proceeds of $2,000,000 Mr. Brent King, Managing Director said, "At our annual meeting in September we gained shareholder approval to raise capital to fund further growth of the Group. This is the 3rd placement in this financial year. General Capital will use most of the capital raised today to increase the capital of wholly owned subsidiary and licensed Non Bank Deposit Taker, General Finance Limited. The additional capital will allow General Finance Limited to continue on its strong growth in assets and profits. We will continue to review our capital requirements regularly." The share issue was authorised by board of directors' resolutions dated 22 February 2022 in accordance with the shareholders resolution passed at the adjourned annual meeting on 3 September 2021 for the purposes of NZX rule 4.1.1.
