Media Release | 28 September 2026 Auckland Airport director to retire from Board The Auckland Airport board has announced director Mark Binns will step down at this year’s Annual Meeting on 22 October 2026. Mr Binns joined the Board in April 2018 bringing extensive leadership experience and a background in delivering some of New Zealand’s largest infrastructure projects. Board Chair Julia Hoare said Mark’s experience had been especially valuable as the company progressed its once-in-a-generation infrastructure development programme. “On behalf of everyone at Auckland Airport, I thank Mark for his significant contribution over the past nine years serving on the Board, particularly for the depth of experience and knowledge he has shared in relation to the infrastructure programme,” she said. Mr Binns said it had been a privilege to serve on the Board during such an important period in the airport’s history. "As New Zealand’s gateway airport, Auckland Airport is building the infrastructure the country needs for the decades ahead, and it's been rewarding to play a part in that work. I'm leaving at a time when the company is in a strong position, with an excellent Board and leadership team to see the programme through," he said. The Board has begun the search for a new director to fill the vacancy created by Mark’s retirement.
