BIF - capital commitment made to BIF
Booster Investment Management Limited (‘Booster’) advises that it has entered into a deed to commit a further $7.4 million capital allocation from its managed funds to the Booster Innovation Fund (‘BIF’). This increases Booster-managed funds’ total committed and allocated capital to BIF to over $23 million. The additional allocation reflects Booster’s ongoing commitment to maintaining exposure to New Zealand venture capital and supporting investment in innovative, high-growth New Zealand businesses predominately originating from publicly funded research within New Zealand Universities and other research institutes. The committed capital is provided by way of a call facility, meaning the capital is available to be called when required by BIF to fund future investments. The commitment is subject to Booster-managed funds having an unfilled target allocation to BIF. BIF provides most Booster KiwiSaver Scheme members (depending on their selected investment profile) with access to a portfolio of investments in New Zealand start-ups and early-stage companies, an asset class that has traditionally been difficult for individual investors to access. The additional capital will support BIF’s continued investment in New Zealand businesses seeking to develop, commercialise and scale their innovations. The allocation is consistent with Booster’s objective of connecting long-term New Zealand savings with investment opportunities in the domestic innovation ecosystem. A summary of the key terms and conditions of the commitment can be found in the BIF Other Material Information (‘OMI’) document.
